PROJECT MANAGER FOR IDENTITY MANAGEMENT PROGRAM - University Information Technology
This is a limited appointment position running for 42 weeks. This position is also project money funded and is not eligible for severance pay.
University Information Technology (UIT) is a university-wide service organization dedicated to the strategic planning, implementation, and support of technology systems and services that anticipate and meet the academic, research, and business needs of the Tufts community. UIT offers technical leadership and services to our customers with a focus on providing innovative solutions, delivering exceptional customer service, and creating a reliable infrastructure that demonstrates value to the students, faculty, staff, and alumni of Tufts University. UIT works in partnership with schools, business units, and other academic support organizations to provide campus-wide services in the areas of academic and research technology, enterprise application systems and services, networking and telecommunications, information security, data center operations, and user support, training and outreach.
Reporting to the Director of Enterprise Applications, the Project Manager for Identity Management(IdM) Program position is responsible for leading the implementation of the new Oracle Identity Management solution. The Project Manager for Identity Management Program is responsible for project planning, delivery of agreed upon project deliverables and critical milestones, oversight of project resources, management of project, budget, plans, risks, issues, assumptions, and definitions, as well as mitigation activities. In addition, she/he is responsible for project communications covering many levels and functions, from senior university leadership, to/from Schools, to project team, and other members of UIT. Ensuring appropriate oversight of the project budget and timeline are considered critical to the success of this project. The Project Manager will direct project resources and will coordinate with other UIT operational teams to ensure timely delivery of infrastructure improvements, such as; networking configuration, hardware installation, and operating system. He/she will have the lead role in the generation and maintenance of the detailed project plan and project deliverables, including: requirements, designs, test plans, and implementation plans.

Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and four plus (4+) years of related experience OR a High School diploma and ten (10) years of professional experience in IT
- At least four (4) years of project management experience, two (2) of which are leading IT projects
- Demonstrated experience in leading an implementation using a 3rd party services vendor
- Demonstrated leadership qualities
- Excellent technical writing skills
- Excellent communication skills and experience using Microsoft Office suite technologies (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and MS Project
- Experience in managing and leading complex IT related projects
Preferred Qualifications:
- Project Management Institute (PMI) Certification in PMP<
- Experience managing IT projects in a higher education institution; preference given to individuals who has managed IdM projects/programs within higher education
- Experience with IdM tools and specifically the Oracle IdM suite
- Demonstrated ability to work across multiple business and IT departments and foster a sense of team
- Strongly recommended to provide example of writing and Project Plan
- Experience in identifying, recommending, and changing business processes
- Understanding of the IdM marketplace to stay current on standards and issues, and experience with Internet user community group functions
