Global Test Engineer (Systems Engineer) Job #2816 Akron/Canton, Ohio
Compensation: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour.
Minimum Qualifications:
• A four year BS/BA degree in Computer Science/IT or Engineering (electrical, industrial, computer) or related field
• Successful candidates will have 2 - 5 years of related industry experience.
• Demonstrated software development skills using a diverse set of software technologies, tools and languages (.NET, XML, C, C#, VB. . .and scripting)
• Demonstrated use of database concepts and technologies (MS SQL, Oracle, Access. . .).
• Have exposure to global manufacturing processes and demands within highly technical, software based, engineering environment.
• Includes data flow, data storage, replication and performance tuning aspects.
• Demonstrated understanding of software development methodologies (i.e. Agile, Scrum, Waterfall. . .) and the benefits/trade-offs of each.
Preferred Qualifications:
• 3 to 6 years of related industry experience supporting a global manufacturing environment
• Demonstrated understanding of basic statistical methodologies (i.e. SPC, 6-Sigma..), concepts and their applications within manufacturing
• Demonstrated experience in designing and developing reporting systems for process improvement strategies
• Demonstrated experience converting raw data into graphical representations (i.e. Pareto, trending, etc.)
Responsibilities:
• Designing, developing and sustaining application software
• The position requires a mix of software skills oriented towards Web development and Business Intelligence
• Working with all levels of management and directing the efforts of others (i.e. technicians, focus teams, external partners. . .)
• Working with Software loading processes, automated order configuration and component system test
• Performing application development and support with an emphasis on Web based data collection, analysis/aggregation and reporting
• Responsible for establishing the software and hardware infrastructure required to support an enhanced level of data collection and reporting from all manufacturing sites. Including geographically dispersed contract manufactures
• Responsible for enabling the use of automated statistical process control methodologies and software related infrastructures
• Software development in C, C#, VB and other application development languages or tools. Includes integration and visualization of data extracted from a variety of existing databases
• Potential to travel domestically or internationally (Hungary, China, Brazil or India) up to 10%
